In my childhood’s eye,
\nWhere time is slower,
\nWe find it, there, beneath the beech.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No bison skulls, or tumbleweeds,
\nLike on TV.
\nNo ghost towns, here,
\nWhere we lived.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And yet, our find,
\nParked there, for years,
\nWas too far gone back then,
\nFor us to drive, even in play.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Somehow, more than abandoned,
\nThat it was there
\nSeemed ominous.
\nAvoided.
\nLeft.
\nDecayed.
\nIgnored.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Were I to venture back,
\nAnd look.
\nI’m sure there would be something left.
\nMore than a memory.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some story,
\nsome might tell, I guess.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But what, I do not know.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
