A Creative Animal!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_12025\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12025\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12025\" src=\"http:\/\/aforgrave.ca\/detritus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/170739.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aforgrave.ca\/detritus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/170739.jpg 800w, https:\/\/aforgrave.ca\/detritus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/170739-300x93.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aforgrave.ca\/detritus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/170739-768x239.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-12025\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;I Would be a Creative Animal,&#8221; image of <em>Leonardo da Vinci<\/em>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artble.com\/artists\/leonardo_da_vinci\/drawings\/vitruvian_man\">Vitruvian Man from Artble.com<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/daily.ds106.us\/tdc1988\/\">The Daily Create, <strong>tdc1988<\/strong><\/a>, asks &#8220;<em>If you were an animal, what animal would you be?<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>My first thought was to go with &#8220;human,&#8221; and slide in a picture of da Vinci&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vitruvian_Man\">Vitruvian Man<\/a> &#8212; but I then thought that might be a bit of a cop out, and decided to engage a bit more fully with the prompt.<\/p>\n<p>Following along the notion of <em>ds106 creativity<\/em>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I turned to Google<\/span>\u00a0(!!) and searched &#8220;creative animal&#8221; for some inspiration.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first item returned in the list was the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.creativeanimal.org\"><strong>Creative Animal Foundation<\/strong><\/a><strong>, <\/strong>which\u00a0looked interesting (tiny house on wheels, roaming the continent promoting sustainability)<\/li>\n<li>The second item was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.ca\/search?q=creative+animal&amp;client=safari&amp;rls=en&amp;tbm=isch&amp;tbo=u&amp;source=univ&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjxtZHoxunUAhWLx4MKHQcGA50QsAQIMg&amp;biw=1440&amp;bih=816\">Images for creative animal<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The third was a variant for the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.ca\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=8&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjxtZHoxunUAhWLx4MKHQcGA50QFghEMAc&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.creativeanimal.org%2Fthe-creative-animal-tiny-house-tour%2F&amp;usg=AFQjCNHurAUgBLaadEUldY47amZAQOPZIQ\">The Creative Animal Tiny House Tour &#8211; Creative Animal Foundation<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the fourth link down the list jumped out as a workable premise: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pixel77.com\/30-creative-animal-logo-designs\/\">30 Most Creative Animal Logo Designs<\/a> &#8211; I could make a logo for my creative animal?<\/li>\n<li>The fifth entry in the Google search was, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/16856-animals-tools-octopus-primates.html\">Creative Creatures: 10 Animals That Use Tools<\/a>,&#8221; and the list that resulted was <em>chimpanzees, crows, orangutans, elephants, dolphins, sea otters, gorillas, octopuses, macaques, and rodents<\/em>. \u00a0 No real inspiration there. Does a crow count as an animal? An owl, pensive but capable of flight was appealing, but again, it&#8217;s a bird, isn&#8217;t it?<\/li>\n<li>Next came <a href=\"http:\/\/www.creative-animal.com\">creative-animal.com<\/a>, which is the shingle site for a graphic designer, web designer, and developer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None of this really got me anywhere. I like the creative animal idea. How to represent that?<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 891px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" style=\"margin-top: 0px;\" src=\"http:\/\/news.nationalgeographic.com\/content\/dam\/news\/photos\/000\/823\/82374.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for beaver\" width=\"881\" height=\"571\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The beaver builds dams and lodges. That&#8217;s creative, isn&#8217;t it? Plus, it&#8217;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Beaver#As_a_national_emblem\"><em>national animal<\/em> of Canada<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Still, all that time spent swimming around in ponds and chewing down trees didn&#8217;t sound too appealing. I don&#8217;t do a lot of that myself. Plus, as a rodent, it was #10 on that list of creative animals.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s July 1st. <del>I could slap a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Canada_Day\">red Canadian Maple Leaf<\/a> on the Vitruvian Man, and go with that?<\/del> On second thought, <em>that might not go over too well<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Okay. I started this post on June 19.
