Suitcases for Shareski

At 16:06 Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, February 18th, Dean Shareski (@shareski on Twitter) put out an urgent call to crowdsource funds for new luggage. While the details of his requirements were not fully clear in the short message available to us at this time, it is clear that Dean understands the power of the network, and is turning to the network in his time of need.

Dean is under tight time constraints, and has indicated that funds will only be of value should he receive confirmation of their availability by the time he reaches YYC, “in 90 minutes.” That would be approximately 5:36 EDT today from my POV.

Dean has indicated that US funds are acceptable, and therefore I am prepared to make available to him my remaining funds from Educon 2.3, pictured above, sum total US$1.66 — book not included.

I have included also included within this photograph my copy of Rosamund Zander’s book, The Art of Possibility”.

The book is included in the photo, for three reasons:

1) To illustrate my belief to Dean, in Dean, and for Dean the power of possibility — wishing him the best in his endeavor at obtaining new luggage. He travels a fair amount, so he will probably use it.

2) As a support for the coins, which would otherwise fall through the deck boards and become lost, thereby reducing the effect of my pledge.

3) And because today’s @dailyshoot topic is yellow, and Dean’s story just made a photograph of a yellow-covered book all that more interesting for today’s assignment.

Our very best and most sincere wishes to Dean in his time of need.

@dailyshoot Make a photograph that features the color yellow in some way or another. #ds460
