These are close to what I’m aiming for, but I’m wondering what folks think regarding colour choices? We’ve been using red and white on black for the site design. But I’m liking the blue for the shirt rather than black.
One change I’d like to make to this design is to incorporate the logos on the back for the various forms, like appeared on The Daily Create shirt from summer 2014. Thoughts?
Oh — and would folks prefer small 1-1/4″ buttons, or larger 2-1/4″ buttons? I’ll be covering the cost of the buttons. We’ll have to sort out stamps and envelopes later.
Another Option:
Jim Groom (@jimgroom) says he wants stripes on the shirts. Zazzle doesn’t have striped shirts (we could put some on the design, but it would only cover ~12″ of the shirt front, with possible solid sleeves).
Another option is for folks to just find an existing striped shirt (like this one, pictured below) and slap a big prisoner106 badge on it. The buttons from Zazzle can be ordered in dimensions of up to 6″ in diameter, though maybe a 3″ button might suffice?
Black and red would stay consistent (and conform) and black goes well with many different things- but the blue is looking good! So yes – the blue – we are individuals.
Not a fan of the stipes – visually effective and gives the feeling of Prisoner – but I don’t wear stripes well :-{
The buttons are cool! A definite artifact – and you don’t have to cover the costs- let us know!
Wonderful that you are putting this in motion!
The biggest trick with the buttons isn’t the cost, so much as getting them to everyone. Rather than placing one order, getting them shipped here, and then re-distributing them, perhaps I can look at just getting each one shipped direct to each participant.
I love the TDC design! I had not seen it before. Prefer small button – how lovely of you to get this for us!
I am conflicted about the shirt. I do like the stripes. The red/black on the site is awesome. I can also imagine that the combo on a shirt might be a little in your face for gym wear. The blue is nice and easy to wear but feels ‘less prisoner’ like….
The Daily Create T-shirt design was my contribution to the Summer of 2014 ds106. While I originally designed it for a black T-shirt, I very quickly decided it looked best on blue, and that’s what I ordered! There are a number of previous designed available at the ds106zone site on Zazzle.
As I look at the striped shirt, I like it more and more. Unfortunately, there would be no easy way to get any printing done on them. There are some other colours of striped patterns available there as well.
