Our two Camp Magic Macguffin co-coordinators, Alan (@cogdog) and Martha (@mburtis), have gone missing in Minecraft. News is sketchy at this point, but it would appear that they vanished at or near the surface to a “ZoneStone Mine” at the border between our world and that of Minecraft, during a series of explosions at or about 19:20 EDT on July 30th. If you have not yet seen it, you may wish to view the news video feed embedded at the bottom of this post. (Caution: May upset some viewers.)
We are marshalling support for our colleagues at this moment. If you can provide assistance of any kind, please add your information to this form.
We are all hoping for the safe and soon return of our beloved friends.
The following news feed provides further details surrounding the disappearance of Alan and Martha. (Again, some images may be disturbing.)
We will be using the tag #106lostinminecraft in aid of the search proceedings.
12:03 PM July 31st Update: Close viewing of this artifact seems to reveal a number of “loops” in the video feed, frequently accompanied by an out-of-sync audio commentary. In the simplest explanation, it may be that our colleagues were somehow spirited away PRIOR to the apparent explosion, and their likenesses remained visible due to the re-played images. In a more chilling, yet possible explanation, Alan and Martha may have been caught within some kind of “Moebius effect,” often implicated within looping or repeating instances of time.
We at CVI are very concerned as well, Alan and Martha were on a key mission important not only to our company, but for the free world. A strike force team is one their way.
Any artifacts in the video are a result of the powerful electrical/neurological plasma waves of ZoneStone, there are no false edits in there.
We are pleased you are calling in volunteers but warn them of the danger.
Mr. E.
Thank you for posting this brief comment here. Some information is better than none, I guess. (Unless it serves to obfuscate.) Please note our team communication protocols below to ensure a quick and direct response from all of our concerned participants.
I am sure @Gumby_Blockhead and our team of volunteer searchers will be pleased with the additional support when your team arrives. Perhaps your folks can coordinate upon their arrival with our existing on-site personnel to ensure that your efforts are contributing in the most supportive directions. We would hate to have any time wasted with your folks scouring areas which have already been searched.
Any further information which you can provide as this situation unfolds will assist us and the general public in having confidence in CVI and its affiliated initiatives. I note that several links on your corporate site appear to be broken and/or out of date (“Partners,” and “Support,” generating 404 Not Found errors. Both of these pages would serve to provide a broader context as well as appearance of responsiveness to your clients and public in general. (As an unrelated aside, I might also be interested in information related to “Jimmy’s Potbelly Rub,” as listed on your existing Clients page. Is that for cleaning (here’s hoping!) wood-burning stoves? (If it’s some kind of stomach cleaner, I don’t even want to think about it!!))
While we have seen some Twitter posts and activity on the Camp Magic Macguffin site from @cogdog’s accounts today, we have not heard from him directly (odd, given the huge outpouring of concern over the “accident,”) and have not seen nor heard from Martha. We are concerned and hope that you can shed any insight
SEARCH TEAM COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS: If you can provide any further details regarding the “danger” (this is very general and provides no specifics as to the necessary precautions), please post via Twitter to the direct attention of @Gumby_Blockhead and be sure to use the #106lostinminecraft tag, as all our concerned volunteers are monitoring that tag for the most recent news.
We would also be pleased to see your full name (“Mr. E” is somewhat cryptic) and the full names of your responding “strike force team” (what will they be “striking,” I wonder?) added to our Pledge Support data base (please use the form embedded above).
Thank you. We hope this matter will be resolved expeditiously, and that our valued colleagues will be returned to us post-haste.
