Schools that SOAR: Reimagining School through Design Thinking
1 Session: (Tuesday, Feb 16) 7:00-9:00 pm ET,
In this workshop, educators will explore the concepts of creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation by tackling a real-world problem through ‘The SOAR Cycle’, an adapted design thinking model. By practicing solving a problem through design thinking, educators will learn how they can implement engaging design challenges in their own classrooms.
We will start with ‘The Challenge’. In groups, participants will collaborate to respond to the central question of ‘How might we reimagine ‘school’ to create innovative and sustainable learning environments that support the new normal of education?’. By the end of the evening, participants will have developed their own innovative solutions to support the future of education. This workshop is experiential with guided instruction. Participants will be actively participating in the learning throughout the two-hour session.
